Funding Portals & Programs

FundWaHub
FundHubWA is a centralized portal that helps businesses and organizations find state and federal climate and clean energy funding, including grants and tax incentives. Launched in 2024 and administered by the Washington State Department of Commerce, the platform offers search tools, tailored recommendations, and updates on upcoming funding opportunities to support a cleaner, more resilient Washington.
SBA
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) helps open the door to funding for small businesses by backing loans that reduce risk for lenders. By setting clear guidelines and providing guarantees, the SBA makes it easier for small businesses to access the capital they need to start, grow, and thrive. Find SBA Lenders

Access to Capital

Washington State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI)
The Washington State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) is a blend of lending and investment programs that expands access to capital for small businesses across the state. The program provides additional funding to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and participating lenders to increase lending in underserved and underbanked communities that have historically been excluded from traditional financing.

A portion of SSBCI funding is specifically reserved for Very Small Businesses (VSBs) and businesses owned by Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Individuals (SEDI). While the program is developed by the Washington State Department of Commerce in partnership with private financial institutions, all loans are administered by trusted CDFI partners, not the Department of Commerce itself.
Equitable Access to Credit Program
The Equitable Access to Credit Program uses a tax credit model to expand access to credit for businesses in historically underserved communities. Businesses and individuals that pay Washington’s B&O tax can make cash contributions equal to their tax liability and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit from the Department of Revenue, with contributions capped at $1 million annually.

Those contributions fund grants to qualified lending institutions, including Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), which use the funds to provide credit in underserved areas. At least 65% of all grant funding each year must support Native CDFIs or investments and services in rural counties. The program is designed to drive investment in small, rural, and underserved businesses and strengthen local economic development across Washington. Learn more.
