One of our key roles at the Covington Chamber of Commerce is to advocate on behalf of our members by focusing on issues that are important to them and their economic vitality and sustainability. We do this by establishing and maintaining relationships with influencers at all levels of government, listening to our members and their needs and concerns, and being a collective voice.
To be effective in this role, the Covington Chamber is a member of several key organizations including:
South Sound Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition (SSCCLC)
South East Area Legislative Transportation Coalition (SEAL-TC)
We participate in roundtable discussions, regular meetings, conferences and special events like AWB's annual Hill Climb to stay up-to-date on issues that may affect our businesses. We also have a close relationship with the City of Covington, and we meet periodically with legislators at the state and national levels. In October 2022, we hosted a candidate for candidates of the 47th legislative district.
In addition to our executive director's role in these activities, our Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee help support the Covington Chamber's advocacy efforts. We welcome feedback from our businesses and encourage an open dialogue to ensure the continued success of our business community.
